DigitalPersona offers state-of-the-art Software Development Kits (SDKs) that are used around the world to add the certainty, simplicity and efficiency of fingerprint authentication and user identification to commercial applications.

U.are.U family of SDKs
The U.are.U SDKs are a bold step forward in fingerprint biometric application development. With a brand new synchronous API, this release fully embraces image, template, and compression standards. In addition, the DigitalPersona FingerJet biometric engine now features a Minex certified extractor. This new direction provides developers with the flexibility to make unfettered choices of matching algorithms and the ability to comply with a growing customer requirement for standards support. Getting Started Bundle
The new “Getting Started” bundle contains everything a developer needs to start using DigitalPersona fingerprint biometrics, including a U.are.U 4500 or U.are.U 5100 reader, all the U.are.U SDKs, a Best Practices Guide, documentation, and free membership to the DigitalPersona Developer WebPortal. The DigitalPersona U.are.U SDK for Windows allows developers to create fingerprint recognition enabled applications for XP/Vista/Win 7 (32/64), XP Embedded (32-bit), Windows Server 2003/2008 (32/64-bit), Windows RDP, Citrix/Terminal Services (local driver), .NET, Java and JavaPOS. Highlights include a new, simplified API, support for standard image and data formats, WSQ compression, NFIQ image quality metrics, and integrated 1:n identification.

The DigitalPersona U.are.U SDK for Windows supports the DigitalPersona U.are.U Fingerprint Readers, U.are.U Fingerprint Modules and U.are.U Fingerprint Keyboard (sold separately).

Standards support – In addition to legacy DigitalPersona image and minutiae formats, the U.are.U SDKs offer support for the following standards:

  • ISO 19794-4:2005, Fingerprint Image standard.
  • ANSI/INCITS 381-2009, Finger Image Based Data Interchange Format.
  • ISO/IEC 19794-2:2005, Biometric data interchange format.
  • ANSI INCITS 378-2004 Finger minutiae data format.
  • MINEX (Minutiae Exchange) Certification - DigitalPersona submitted its FingerJet minutiae extraction SDK to the ongoing MINEX program. The FingerJet extractor was certified to create MINEX compliant templates.
  • WSQ – includes support for Aware WSQ1000 SDK and NIST WSQ algorithm (U.are.U for Windows and for Linux SDKs only).
  • NIST FINGERPRINT IMAGE QUALITY (NFIQ) – Includes built-in support for the Aware NFIQ algorithm as well. (U.are.U for Windows and for Linux SDKs only).

Embedded CPU architectures –U.are.U SDKs for Linux and Windows CE now support ARM CPU architectures enabling developers to create embedded application.

Integrated 1:n identification – The U.are.U SDKs support for 1:n identification, integrated into the FingerJet engine. No helper SDKs are needed.
